Afghan Romance is a novel about the gaining by a young man of independence, about the building of one's own personality and about the freeing of oneself from parental domination. The symbol of this independence is romance - the first aim, whose achievement gives the hero a sense of liberation. One Life is a series of three works that are an image of the disappointments and disillusionments of the heroes. Life has to be filled with some content but all is mere semblance, a game with one's self and others. Maybe that is why we find here such remorse for a lost childhood, where there was some hope.
